At Scoil Rince Ní Haodh, our Pre‑Beginners classes are all about joy, confidence, and connection. This is where children take their very first steps into Irish dancing in a warm, friendly environment in Dublin 24 and Dublin 8.
These classes welcome boys and girls of all ages, helping them build confidence, make friends, and discover the excitement of Irish dance — all while having fun and feeling proud of their progress.
What Your Child Will Learn
Our Pre‑Beginners classes focus on building strong foundations in an age‑appropriate, enjoyable way:
Posture: Learning to stand tall, confident, and ready to dance — the first building block of Irish dance technique.
Timing: Developing rhythm and musical awareness through simple, playful exercises.
16‑Bar Reel: A short, joyful routine including skipping, pointing, and simple steps that help children feel proud of what they can do.
Every class is designed so children can grow at their own pace, celebrate small wins, and enjoy the excitement of learning something new.
Competitions & Performing
Even our youngest dancers can experience the thrill of performing — but only when they’re ready.
Teacher guidance: Your teacher will let you know when your child is ready — there is never any pressure.
How to enter: Once approved, entries are completed through FeisHost.
The experience: Young dancers usually perform in small groups, focusing on participation, confidence, and fun.
These early performances are positive, encouraging, and memorable — the perfect introduction to the world of Irish dance.
