This level is designed to welcome boys and girls of all ages into the world of Irish dance in a way that feels fun, supportive, and confidence‑building. Children learn to move to the music, make new friends, and discover the joy of performing — all in a warm, encouraging environment.

Pre‑Beginner classes focus on building strong foundations in a fun, age‑appropriate way.

• The 16‑Bar Reel: A short, joyful routine with skipping, pointing, and simple steps that help children feel proud of what they can do

Competitions & Performing

Even our youngest dancers can experience the thrill of performing on stage. Pre‑Beginner dancers may take part in friendly, supportive competitions run by Cumann Rince Náisiúnta.

• Teacher Guidance: Your teacher will let you know when your child is ready — there’s no rush.

• How to Enter: Once approved, entries are completed through FeisHost.

• The Experience: Dancers usually perform in small groups, with the focus on participation, confidence, and having fun.
